LeAnn Rimes, born in Jackson, Mississippi, on 28 August 1982, became a country music star at 13 with her 1996 debut single, “Blue”. Her powerful voice drew comparisons with Patsy Cline and rapidly brought commercial success, Grammy awards and crossover recognition, making her one of country music’s most prominent teenage performers.

Raised in Garland, Texas, Rimes performed from age five and released an independent album at 11 before recording “Blue”, a song written by Bill Mack. “Blue” reached number 10 on the US country chart and number 26 on the pop chart, while “How Do I Live?” later spent five non-consecutive weeks at number two and remained on the Billboard Hot 100 for 69 weeks. Rimes has sold more than 48 million records, released her latest album, God’s Work, in 2022, and has also worked in television and acting.
