Girl aged SIX is struck and killed while illegally riding minibike through Minneapolis suburb

Daily Mail · 2 hours ago

A six-year-old girl, Dreme Damara Williams, has died after the minibike she was riding with another child was struck by a car in Brooklyn Center, a Minneapolis suburb. The incident has prompted neighbours to raise concerns about the absence of stop signs and the safety of uncontrolled intersections in the area.

The crash occurred at about 3pm on Thursday at Brooklyn Drive and 63rd Avenue North, where both roads have a 30mph limit. The second girl was taken to hospital in a critical condition, while the driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with police; Minnesota law generally prohibits under-16s from riding motorised bicycles on public roads and requires safety equipment and permits.
