Lando Norris has signed a new McLaren contract running until at least the end of 2030, saying the decision was straightforward despite interest from other Formula 1 teams. The reigning world champion’s commitment reinforces McLaren’s long-term stability and reflects his confidence in the team’s ability to recover from a difficult start under this season’s new rules.

Norris, 26, has raced for McLaren since his F1 debut in 2019 and cited his close relationships with chief executive Zak Brown, team principal Andrea Stella and the wider team. McLaren won the constructors’ championships in 2024 and 2025 and helped Norris secure the drivers’ title last year; after a major car upgrade, he has won the Hungarian and Dutch Grands Prix, cutting his deficit to championship leader Kimi Antonelli to 83 points with 11 races remaining.
