Chris Cantrill has won the 2026 Edinburgh Comedy Award for Rewilding, a spoof whodunnit inspired by his new life in rural Northumberland. The prize is a significant boost for the Bradford-born comedian, who had been nominated three times before and follows his Delightful Sausage partner Amy Gledhill, who won in 2024.

Marty Gleeson won best newcomer for Dog Ear, an eccentric show drawing on her art-school experiences in Limerick, while the panel prize went to One Joke, a charity event featuring 60 comedians. Cantrill receives £10,000 and Gleeson £5,000; winners were selected from more than 550 eligible shows among over 4,200 registered Edinburgh Festival productions.
