P.O.D. guitarist Marcos Curiel and bassist Mark "Traa" Daniels have discussed the band's newly completed studio album, the follow-up to 2024's "Veritas", in an interview with FemMetal. The record was made with Grammy-winning producer Will Yip at his new Memory Music Studios in South Philadelphia, and the pair expressed pride in how the sessions turned out, describing the collaboration as one that came together organically after years of mutual admiration.

Curiel explained that he and Yip became online friends after discovering a shared appreciation for each other's work, and the producer stepped in after a planned collaboration with someone else fell through. He noted the new album carries thematic threads from "Veritas" while representing a progression, and Daniels added that Curiel's concept for the record is thought-provoking and likely to surprise listeners despite feeling authentically P.O.D. Curiel also reflected on the band's roots in the Southern California scene of the 1990s, crediting punk, hardcore and reggae influences, and praised producer Yip's work with bands like Turnstile as a sign of positive directions in modern music.
