The Chicago Cubs are launching a scripted rom-com series called "Nine Innings to Love" on the club's TikTok account, marking the baseball team's expansion into original entertainment content. The series draws on the real phenomenon of fans meeting and forming connections during games, aiming to reach Gen Z and millennial audiences with a format blending baseball, romance-novel fandom and classic rom-com tropes set at Wrigley Field.

The show launches on 4 September and comprises 17 short-form, vertical episodes spanning nine baseball innings. It follows Ava, an aspiring romance writer, and David, a love-sceptical seatmate, who meet by chance in the bleachers and strike a deal for Ava to help David find a summer romance before the game ends. It was created by the Cubs' in-house studio, Cubs Productions, with Coyote Sun Productions handling production and Adam Sobel directing; the cast includes Veronica Garrubbo, Sid Kutikkad, Angelina Dávila, Kevin Kantor, Shelby Brown and Cole Steeves.
