Zack Snyder Officially Returns With New Jungle Thriller Trailer

Collider · 17 hours ago

Zack Snyder has released the first trailer for The Last Photograph, a jungle-set thriller marking his return to a more grounded, intimate style of filmmaking after years spent on large-scale franchise projects such as the DCEU's Man of Steel and Netflix's Rebel Moon saga. The film is a long-gestating passion project that Snyder first conceived in the mid-2000s, once envisaged with Christian Bale and Sean Penn in the lead roles, and has only now made it to the screen. It arrives as Snyder prepares to shift direction further, with reports of a planned Escape From New York remake and the UFC film Brawler also in development.

Stuart Martin stars as a former DEA operative searching remote South American mountains for his missing niece and nephew after their diplomat parents are murdered, teaming up with a burnt-out war photographer who witnessed the killing. The trailer depicts their pursuit growing increasingly violent and surreal as they venture deeper into the jungle, blending grief-driven psychological breakdown with graphic, stylised violence. No distributor has yet been attached to the project, though production and promotion are continuing regardless.
