Far Out Magazine has published its round-up of the ten best songs released in August 2026, marking the end of a summer that saw both major musical losses and a flurry of standout new releases. The month brought new music from established acts including Dinosaur Jr, Beck and Mike D, alongside strong showings from indie and DIY artists, while also being overshadowed by the deaths of several notable musicians, among them Dolly Parton, ZZ Top's Frank Beard and John Douglas of The Trashcan Sinatras.
