Two of Dolly Parton's original recordings, "Jolene" and "I Will Always Love You," have reached the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, driven by a surge in listening following her death on 25 August in Nashville at the age of 80. On the chart dated 5 September, "Jolene" re-enters at No. 16 while "I Will Always Love You" debuts at No. 27, marking a milestone neither track achieved during its original 1974 release, despite both topping the Hot Country Songs chart at the time.

The renewed interest also saw three more Parton classics return to the Hot 100: "9 to 5" at No. 18, "Islands in the Stream" (with Kenny Rogers) at No. 26, and "Here You Come Again" at No. 44. "Jolene" collected 10.2 million US streams (up 583%), while "I Will Always Love You" drew 6.5 million streams (up 1,128%), alongside sharp rises in radio airplay and sales for all five songs. Parton now has 10 career top 40 Hot 100 hits, her first appearance in that range in over 20 years, and 15 of her songs feature on the Digital Song Sales chart, with she herself occupying the top six positions.
