Rush have added four extra dates to their Fifty Something tour, the Canadian band's first live outings since 2015, following an enthusiastic response to the North American leg. Founding members Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson are touring with new drummer Anika Nilles, who has stepped in following the death of original drummer Neil Peart in 2020. The band said they had initially built in plenty of rest days out of caution, but decided to add shows after finding they were coping well with life on the road.

The new dates are 1 October in Houston, 21 October in St Louis, 23 October in Cincinnati, and 15 November in Pittsburgh, with tickets going on sale from 4 September and presales starting from 1 and 3 September. The North American leg concludes in Vancouver on 17 December, after which Rush will tour South America before arriving in the UK for shows in Glasgow, Manchester and London in March. Lifeson also revealed he quit smoking cannabis earlier this year, aged 72, crediting the change with improved clarity and memory.
