HBO Max Officially Lands Legendary Liam Neeson Action Hit Featuring 6 Extra Minutes

Collider · 4 hours ago

HBO Max is adding Taken 2 to its library from 1 September, alongside a special extended cut of the 2012 action sequel that includes six minutes of additional footage. The move gives fans of the Liam Neeson franchise a way to revisit the film in a slightly fuller form, as part of the streamer's broader September content slate.

The extended cut does not alter the plot, which sees Neeson's character Bryan Mills targeted for revenge by the father of a trafficker he killed in the original film. Instead, the extra six minutes reportedly add character moments and dialogue that flesh out the Istanbul setting. Both the standard and extended versions of Taken 2 will be available from 1 September, and the first Taken film is already streaming on HBO Max in select regions.

  • Taken 2 and its extended cut arrive on HBO Max on 1 September
