Actress Elizabeth Caproni, known for her impressions of Nicola Sturgeon, has revealed she has never met the former First Minister but says the pair have exchanged private messages, with Sturgeon reportedly a supportive fan of the send-ups. Caproni rose to prominence in 2024 through the BBC Hogmanay sketch show Queen of the New Year, which featured skits mocking Sturgeon and Murrell, and she says Sturgeon has since reposted one of her impressions online. She has not been approached to audition for the Channel 5 project, working title "To Nicola, Love Peter", a one-off 90-minute drama, but said she would jump at the opportunity.
