The parents of a toddler found wandering alone on a Sydney street in the early hours of Tuesday morning have been located, New South Wales Police have confirmed. The boy was discovered on MacDonald Street in Ramsgate, in the city's south, at around 2.10am, prompting officers to search the area and issue a public appeal after being unable to trace his family.

The child was found wearing a black T-shirt and black trousers, with no shoes. Officers from St George Police Area Command searched the surrounding area overnight but could not immediately locate his parents, who were eventually found and reunited with him at around 8am the same day. Police thanked members of the public who shared their appeal and said inquiries into the incident were continuing.
