Dolly Parton's compilation Ultimate Dolly Parton has re-entered the Billboard 200 albums chart at number five, becoming the late singer's second-highest-charting album and her fourth top 10 entry. The surge follows Parton's death on 25 August at the age of 80 after a short illness with cancer, with fans driving a wave of streaming and sales activity for the 2003 collection in the days immediately after her passing.

The chart, dated 5 September, reflects less than three days of impact from the announcement of her death, yet the album still earned 59,000 equivalent units, up sharply from a negligible figure the previous week, largely on the back of streaming. The 20-track collection features staples such as "Jolene", "I Will Always Love You", "9 to 5" and "Islands In the Stream", and sold 7,000 copies in the tracking week, more than any other Parton album. Her only higher chart placement remains Rockstar, which reached number three in 2023.
