A 16-year-old boy has been charged with murder and two counts of attempted murder following an attack at a house in Dungannon, County Tyrone, in which a man died and his young daughter was left critically injured. Police were called to the property on Lisnahull Road on Saturday morning after a report of a disturbance, and the case has drawn significant public concern given the ages of those involved and the severity of the attack.

Officers arrived to find the body of a 61-year-old man alongside his 48-year-old wife, who had non-life-threatening injuries, and their eight-year-old daughter, who was severely injured. The girl was taken to the Royal Belfast Hospital for Sick Children and is now in a stable condition, while her mother was treated and later released. The teenage suspect was arrested and, after detectives were granted a 36-hour extension to question him, has now been charged; he is due to appear before Omagh Magistrates' Court. Police say there is no wider threat to the public but have increased their presence in the area.
