Foreigner to Headline Benefit for Sean Penn’s CORE

The Hollywood Reporter · 3 hours ago

Sean Penn and Ann Lee's disaster relief charity, Community Organized Relief Effort (CORE), will hold its Afterglow fundraiser in Los Angeles on 15 September, with rock band Foreigner headlining. Proceeds will support CORE's emergency response work worldwide, continuing the charity's practice of pairing high-profile music performances with philanthropic fundraising to sustain long-term rebuilding efforts in communities affected by disasters.

The invite-only event boasts a starry host committee including Bradley Cooper, David Geffen, Sharon Stone and Jewel, and forms part of a signature CORE concert series that will also stage a Miami edition on 3 December. It follows a similar CORE event in December 2025 featuring Arcade Fire's Win Butler and Régine Chassagne, and comes shortly after the charity launched a $5 million earthquake relief campaign for Venezuela in July, backed by a $500,000 lead donation from the FIFA Foundation.
