Netflix has announced a new three-part documentary, The One About Matthew Perry, celebrating the life of the Friends actor who died in October 2023. Directed and executive produced by Mary Robertson and produced through her Maxine Productions (part of Sony Pictures Television), the series draws on intimate testimonies from Perry's close family and friends, including his sister Mia Perry Bowick, and aims to portray him beyond his famous role as Chandler Bing or his public struggles with addiction.

The documentary will premiere on Netflix on 27 October. Perry died aged 54 in Los Angeles, with his death later ruled accidental and attributed to the acute effects of ketamine, alongside contributing factors including drowning, coronary artery disease and the effects of buprenorphine. Best known for Friends, Perry also starred in films such as Fools Rush In, The Whole Nine Yards and Three to Tango. Executive producers include Lisa Kalikow, Eli Holzman and Aaron Saidman, with Lora Moftah as co-executive producer and Jessica Call producing.
