Jonathan Bailey Drops Out Of West End Revival Of ‘Sunday In The Park With George’

Actor Jonathan Bailey has pulled out of the West End revival of Sunday in the Park with George, weeks after his co-star Ariana Grande also withdrew from the production. In a statement posted on social media, Bailey said he had decided "after much consideration" to step back from what he called a "passion project", praising Grande and the show's creative team while wishing the company well. With both previously announced leads now gone, the future of the high-profile revival is uncertain.
The production, from Empire Street Productions and London's Barbican Centre, had been due to open in summer 2027, reuniting Grande and Bailey after plans were first reported by Deadline in December and confirmed the following month. Grande departed the show last month, and producers had been holding off on ticket sales until after her tour concluded at London's O2 Arena on 1 September. It is not yet known who, if anyone, will replace the pair or how the production will proceed.
