RUSH Drummer Anika Nilles Partners with TAMA for New Signature Snare

Consequence · 3 hours ago

RUSH drummer Anika Nilles has teamed up with drum manufacturer TAMA to release a new signature snare drum, the AN1465, which she has already been using on the band's ongoing "Fifty Something" reunion tour. The collaboration underlines Nilles's growing prominence within RUSH, where she has drawn widespread praise for stepping into the drum stool once occupied by the late Neil Peart.

The AN1465 snare costs $849.99 and is sold via Reverb. It features a 1.2mm aluminium shell, strengthened slightly from standard designs, measuring 14 inches in diameter and 6.5 inches deep to boost low-end tone, along with a newly developed Mod-Tone Muffler offering adjustable, togglable muting. Nilles has said she tested more than 50 snares in a single day while developing the instrument, a process documented in a promotional video from TAMA. Meanwhile, RUSH's acclaimed reunion tour continues across North America, with four extra dates recently added.
