How Karol G’s Sister & Co-Manager Jessica Giraldo Balances the Personal & Professional: ‘I’m Looking Out for Her’
Jessica Giraldo Navarro, CEO of Bichota Records and the sister and co-manager of reggaetón star Karol G, has been named Billboard Español's Executive of the Month for August. The recognition follows a hectic run for the singer, who launched her second global stadium tour, Viajando Por El Mundo Tropitour, and then surprised fans with a new album, both of which have driven major chart success and a significant charitable pledge following an earthquake in Colombia.
Karol G's 14-track album, No Me Arrepiento de Sentir Tanto, features Drake and Bruno Mars and debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Latin Albums chart, reaching No. 8 on the all-genre Billboard 200. It also placed 13 songs on the Hot Latin Songs chart, with "Ahí" (featuring Drake) debuting at No. 1 before being overtaken by "BbY WOW". Karol G also pledged $1.2 million via her Con Cora Foundation for relief efforts after the 10 August earthquake in Colombia. Giraldo Navarro, who oversees Bichota Records' strategy, creative direction, budgets and key negotiations, described the release as a deliberately spontaneous "surprise album" and detailed how the tour, drawing around 45,000 fans nightly, has been used to promote both the record and the foundation's Mujer Segura initiative supporting women's safety.
