Tiger Woods is due at a Florida court on Wednesday for a hearing on a possible plea change in his DUI case, following a rollover crash on Jupiter Island in March. The five-time Masters champion had initially pleaded not guilty to misdemeanour DUI and refusal-to-test charges, plus a careless driving citation, but his court appearance has now been moved forward from 8 September to Wednesday morning at Martin County Courthouse. It remains unclear whether he intends to change his plea or has reached an agreement with prosecutors.

The March crash saw Woods' SUV found on its side in Martin County, roughly 40 miles from West Palm Beach; an arrest affidavit stated he failed a field sobriety test and was carrying prescription painkillers. He subsequently stepped back from public life to pursue recovery treatment, adding to a string of car incidents including a serious 2021 crash near Los Angeles that badly injured his leg. Despite remaining out of competition, Woods has stayed engaged with golf, recently congratulating Scottie Scheffler on X after Scheffler overtook him on the PGA Tour's career earnings list.
