Norman Reedus has officially joined Apple TV's upcoming CIA thriller Disavowed, marking his next major project after The Walking Dead franchise. The casting news comes as Apple TV continues to strengthen its drama slate, buoyed by the huge success of Ted Lasso's return, and signals the streamer's push to develop high-profile spy thrillers that could appeal to fans awaiting the new James Bond era on Prime Video.

Disavowed stars James Marsden as disgraced CIA officer Brad Griffin, who pursues a $15 million bounty on an assassin's head after being fired mid-investigation. Reedus, best known as Daryl Dixon, will appear in an as-yet-undisclosed role alongside Marsden; the series is executive produced by Tom Spezialy, Marsden, Theresa Kang, Caroline Garity, and originators Art Marcum and Matt Holloway. Reedus remains linked to The Walking Dead universe through the spin-off The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon, which is heading into its fourth and final season next year.
