Preview: Stuntman: Hollywood Feels Like a Racer from a Bygone Era, and I Couldn’t Be More Excited
Push Square previewed Stuntman: Hollywood at Gamescom, the revived film-stunt racing franchise from Saber Interactive that was announced via a State of Play earlier this year. The game leans heavily into nostalgic, Universal-licensed movie-inspired action, and the preview suggests it successfully recaptures the feel of tie-in racers from an earlier gaming era, built around tight, skill-based courses rather than open-world driving.
The hands-on session covered four short levels, each lasting roughly two minutes and themed around Fast and Furious, Miami Vice, Earthquake and Jurassic World, requiring precise drifting, narrow near-misses and repeated attempts to improve times. Highlights included drifting a Ferrari Testarossa through Miami while shooting out enemy tyres, and riding a dirt bike away from an erupting volcano while backflipping over a T-Rex on Isla Nublar. The preview praised the challenging, replayable gameplay loop and cinematic variety, though no release date has yet been confirmed for the PS5 title.
