Country and bluegrass artist Ricky Skaggs has shared a personal recollection of the late Dolly Parton ahead of her death being marked, describing a moment of shared prayer that preceded the recording of her 1989 comeback album "White Limozeen". Parton, who died on 25 August at the age of 80, reportedly took Skaggs to a small church rebuilt in her Nashville backyard, where the pair prayed together before producing the record, which helped restore her standing in country music after a commercially disappointing pop-oriented period.

Skaggs, 72, told Fox News Digital that the backyard church was originally from Parton's childhood in East Tennessee and had been dismantled and reconstructed piece by piece. He said Parton invited him to produce "White Limozeen" after his band appeared on her television show, following her 1987 album "Rainbow", which had underperformed commercially. "White Limozeen" went on to reach number three on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart, produce two number-one singles and earn a Gold certification, with Skaggs crediting their shared Appalachian roots and Christian faith for their lasting bond.
