The Guardian has reviewed Fall 2: Deadpoint, the sequel to 2022's surprise Netflix hit Fall, finding it a diminished but occasionally effective follow-up to the low-budget original. Where the first film's blend of silliness and genuine suspense helped it stand out from typical streaming fare, this sequel largely repeats the formula with less success, though it still delivers enough vertigo-inducing set pieces to unsettle audiences before its weaker plotting takes over.

The story again follows two young women, played by Arsema Thomas and Harriet Slater, attempting a dangerous stunt (a plank walk on a Thai mountainside) to process grief after a friend's death, before disaster strikes via a rockslide. The review praises the physical peril sequences but criticises the thin, cliché-driven script and an overcooked twist-laden finale, which sets up an already greenlit third instalment. Fall 2: Deadpoint is out now in US cinemas, releases in Australia on 3 September and reaches UK cinemas on 9 September.
