NBC has released first-look photos for its new comedy series "Newlyweds", marking the on-screen debut of real-life couple Tim Daly and Téa Leoni as the show's leads. The series follows a later-in-life romance between free-spirited Jeanie (Leoni) and buttoned-up professor James (Daly), who marry impulsively after a whirlwind courtship, and it forms part of NBC's autumn comedy line-up.

The cast also includes Jamie Lee Curtis as James's ex-wife Claudia, alongside Emma Meisel, Ignacio Diaz-Silverio, Bill O'Neill and Al Madrigal in supporting roles as Jeanie's children and James's colleague and best friend. "Newlyweds" is co-created by Gail Lerner and Curtis, both executive producers, with Lerner also serving as showrunner and Pam Fryman directing the pilot. The series premieres on NBC on Friday 23 October at 8:30pm, produced by Universal Television alongside The Tannenbaum Company and Lionsgate Television.
