"Entourage" creator Doug Ellin has publicly rejected claims by star Debi Mazar that the HBO show's set became "toxic," calling her remarks "disgusting" in a series of posts on X. The exchange follows an interview Mazar gave to The Sunday Times in which she described a "testosterone-fuelled" atmosphere developing from the third season onwards and said producers were unhappy about her weight gain after having her second child. The row has reignited scrutiny of the culture on the long-running comedy's production, though Ellin insists the show was a positive experience for the vast majority of its female cast.

Mazar, 62, who played publicist Shauna Roberts throughout the series' eight-season run, said the first season felt like a "joy-fest" before the mood shifted, and that she felt judged for gaining weight even though she later lost it again. Ellin countered that nobody involved with the show discussed or cared about her body, insisting she was cast for her talent rather than her looks, and pointed out that most of the women who worked on "Entourage," which aired on HBO from 2004 to 2011, remain close friends to this day. He also referenced comments he made about male co-stars' physiques, saying he regretted one remark about actor Jerry Ferrara's weight. Mazar's representative had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication.
