The US Department of Homeland Security has strongly rejected claims made by comedian Rosie O'Donnell that immigrants held in ICE detention facilities are being raped and impregnated, calling the allegations "disgusting, reckless and categorically FALSE." O'Donnell made the claims in a TikTok video in which she also compared the facilities to Nazi-era concentration camps, prompting sharp criticism from DHS and other public figures. The row matters because it fuels a broader political dispute over the treatment of detainees under the Trump administration's immigration crackdown and comes amid what DHS says is a sharp rise in attacks on its officers.

A DHS spokesperson told Fox News Digital that such rhetoric has contributed to a "1,300% increase in assaults," a "3,300% increase in vehicular attacks" and an "8,000% increase in death threats" against ICE officers, while dismissing comparisons to WWII internment camps as "deranged and lazy". The department insisted detention conditions are not substandard, stating detainees receive three meals a day, clean water, clothing, bedding, hygiene supplies and phone access, and that ICE's standards exceed those of many US prisons holding citizens. DHS also accused O'Donnell of ignoring child trafficking under the previous administration, and defended its arrest powers as consistent with federal statute and Supreme Court rulings.
