Olivia Rodrigo appeared at the Grammy Museum on 1 September for a conversation with filmmaker Cameron Crowe, marking a new exhibit inspired by her "the cure" music video. During the talk, she reflected candidly on her career, contrasting the intense pressure she felt making her second album, GUTS, with the joy she rediscovered while recording her latest record, You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love.

Rodrigo, 23, said GUTS was accompanied by anxiety and self-doubt following the huge success of her 2021 debut SOUR, both of which topped the Billboard 200, as did her newest album in June. She explained that while she set out to write more straightforwardly happy love songs for the new record, she found the most affecting ones retained a touch of melancholy, hence its title. She also shared songwriting advice, encouraging writers not to be precious about weak drafts, noting that tracks like "stupid song" took around 18 months to finish while "the cure" emerged from a single day of "creative discipline". The evening ended with a five-song performance from the new album.
