The Darkness will play a one-off show at the 300-capacity Moth Club in east London on 17 September, a rare small-venue outing to launch their forthcoming greatest hits compilation, Crock Of Hits. The intimate gig contrasts sharply with the band's next London date, which will be at the 20,000-capacity O2 Arena as part of a much larger arena tour, giving fans a chance to see the band up close before they scale up to stadium-sized venues.

Tickets for the Moth Club show go on sale on 4 September at 10am. The compilation itself will be promoted with a December arena tour taking in Glasgow, Leeds, Manchester, Birmingham, Cardiff, Brighton and London, with support from Brothers Osborne and fellow Lowestoft band A. Frontman Justin Hawkins described the tour in typically flamboyant terms as the "Darkness Carnival," though no tracklist for Crock Of Hits has yet been announced.
