Colin O'Donoghue, best known for playing Hook on Once Upon a Time, has joined MGM+'s Robin Hood for its second season, marking his return to a fantasy franchise years after his original series ended. The casting was revealed by MGM+ in July 2026, and O'Donoghue discussed starting production during a Fan Expo Canada panel in Toronto, where he also spoke about his character and jokingly referenced Once Upon a Time's own Robin Hood actor, Sean Maguire.

Robin Hood's first season premiered in November 2025 and stars Jack Patten, Lauren McQueen, Marcus Fraser, Angus Castle-Doughty and Sean Bean as Robin Hood, Marian, Little John, Friar Tuck and the Sheriff of Nottingham respectively. For Season 2, O'Donoghue joins the cast alongside new additions James Purefoy and Luke Roberts, though further plot and character details remain under wraps.
