Season two ended with protagonist Tommy Norris, played by Billy Bob Thornton, being fired by Cami Miller (Demi Moore) and striking out to launch his own independent oil business, bringing in family members and close colleagues including his father T.L. (Sam Elliott), son Cooper (Jacob Lofland) and best friend Nate (Colm Feore). The new venture involves a deal with mob boss Galino Morrell (Andy Garcia), a financier likely to prove far less forgiving than Tommy's previous backer, the late Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), suggesting higher stakes and a shift in the show's established character dynamics for season three, which is due later this year.
