A 30ft anamorphic mural of Freddie Mercury has been unveiled at Wembley Park to mark what would have been the Queen frontman's 80th birthday. The artwork, titled "I'm Mr Mercury," was created by street artist Frank Styles and only resolves into a clear image of Mercury's face when viewed from a single marked spot around 65ft away, breaking into abstract colour and line from any other angle. It celebrates Mercury's strong ties to Wembley, where Queen performed repeatedly and where he famously appeared at Live Aid.

The mural spans all 58 of the site's Spanish Steps, which link Wembley Stadium to the OVO Arena, and was hand-sprayed as four separate works before being combined into one image. Mercury, born on 5 September 1946, played 10 shows at the venue with Queen between 1978 and 1984, appeared at Live Aid in July 1985, and returned for two sold-out stadium concerts the following year. The design also nods to his personal life, featuring koi carp representing his love of Japan and winged figures referencing his Virgo star sign, alongside lyrics and quotations. It is free to view and will remain in place until December 2026.
