Cloud snail-mail service Docmail enters third day stuck in the outbox
Docmail, a cloud-based hybrid mail service used by more than 30,000 UK businesses and public sector bodies, has entered its third day of downtime with no confirmed restoration time. Operated by CFH Docmail Ltd, the platform lets organisations send physical letters without running their own print rooms, handling printing and postage on their behalf. Its prolonged outage matters because a large share of its customers are in healthcare, meaning essential correspondence such as appointment reminders is currently going unsent.
The service has been unavailable since the start of business on 2 September, with the company's status page initially citing "slower than usual processing times" before confirming full unavailability due to "essential maintenance." Updates on subsequent days offered apologies but no timeline, with CFH admitting on 3 September that it did not yet have a confirmed restoration time. CFH says more than 75 percent of UK medical practices use Docmail for bulk and patient mailings, and its customers include NHS trusts such as Croydon Health Services, along with dental practices, pharmacies, opticians, medical research networks, local authorities and other businesses.
