An inquest has been unable to determine how Mark Hadley, a 61-year-old businessman, died after he disappeared over the Easter bank holiday and his body was found on a Norfolk beach five weeks later. His belongings, including a towel, clothes and running shoes, were discovered in a bag hanging on railings near a slipway at Beeston Regis, but decomposition of his remains meant no toxicology testing could be carried out, leaving the coroner unable to establish a definitive cause of death.

Mr Hadley, co-founder of Link Radio Services Ltd, had gone alone to his family's caravan at Beeston Regis after receiving distressing news that left him feeling "very low", though no suicide note or other evidence of intent to take his life was found. His family reported him missing on 6 April after losing contact for two days, and his body was eventually found by a member of the public at Walcott, around 13 miles away, on 11 May. Assistant coroner Maeve Sykes recorded a narrative conclusion, citing insufficient evidence to explain what happened in his final hours.
