Chavez-DeRemer directed federal driver to pay stripper at strip club

Daily Mail · 3 hours ago

Former Trump Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-DeRemer ordered a government driver to shower cash over a partially nude dancer during an unscheduled stop at an Oregon strip club, according to a damning US Department of Labor watchdog report. The visit took place in April 2025 while she was travelling with her taxpayer-funded federal protection detail, and the report found she and a supervisor on her security team, Brian Sloan, subjected the driver to unwelcome conduct that breached the agency's anti-harassment rules.

The 44-page Office of Inspector General report drew on interviews with 53 current and former Labor Department staff and a review of more than 500 documents, images and videos. It found Chavez-DeRemer had directed the driver to hand cash to a dancer and drop further notes over her body despite his objections, while Sloan told him to comply and later warned him to keep quiet. Investigators also described her office as "toxic, intimidating and humiliating," and detailed an unusually close relationship with Sloan involving encrypted messages and shared hotel time, though they found insufficient evidence of a romantic relationship. Chavez-DeRemer resigned on 20 April, a day before her scheduled interview, and her lawyer maintains the report shows she broke no laws.
