The withdrawals followed a call led by an official from the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, prompted by industry queries about the nature of the two-day French meeting. US officials feared the summit, first announced by Macron in June 2025 and involving figures such as astronaut Thomas Pesquet and entrepreneur Hélène Huby, could push European policy positions on contentious issues like spectrum-sharing that would disadvantage American firms.
