A West Virginia high school principal has been suspended and arrested after recording devices were reportedly discovered hidden in girls' locker rooms at the school. Eric James, 53, headed Brooke High School in Wellsburg until the criminal investigation came to light, prompting the school system to remove him from his post and alert students, parents and staff. The case has raised serious concerns about student safety and privacy on campus.

Officials said four devices were found in female physical education locker rooms, including a separate changing room and an area used by the school's dance team, with further devices reportedly seized from James's home. He has been charged with two felony counts, intercepting electronic communications and breaking and entering a nonresidence, and is being held on $100,000 bond at Northern Regional Jail. Brooke County Schools said it is cooperating fully with law enforcement while conducting its own inquiry and offering support to affected students and families.
