An authorised sequel novel to The Godfather, titled Connie, has been officially confirmed for release in autumn 2027, expanding Mario Puzo's crime saga more than fifty years after the original film. The book will focus on Connie Corleone, sister to Michael Corleone, and is being written by bestselling author Adriana Trigiani with the backing of Puzo's estate, reflecting continued appetite for stories set within the Corleone family's world.

Connie was portrayed by Talia Shire across Francis Ford Coppola's original trilogy, evolving from a peripheral family member into a far more formidable figure by The Godfather Part III. Trigiani has said the novel will explore Connie forging her own identity in a world that has already decided who she is. The book will be published by Random House, and while no film adaptation has been announced, Paramount Pictures holds the screen rights following a 2012 settlement with Puzo's estate. A representative for the 87-year-old Coppola, who directed all three original films, has said it is "unlikely" he would return to direct any future adaptation.
