Reality star Taylor Frankie Paul has revealed she got engaged during her unaired season of The Bachelorette, months after ABC pulled the show from its schedule. Speaking on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, the MomTok influencer said contestant Doug Mason proposed and she accepted, despite him having previously told her he did not plan to do so. The disclosure adds a new twist to a season that has remained in limbo since it was shelved just days before its planned premiere.

ABC pulled Paul's season on 19 March, ahead of a 22 March air date, after a 2023 video emerged showing her throwing a stool at her ex-partner Dakota Mortensen and striking one of her children. Paul pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated assault over the incident, though the Salt Lake City District Attorney's Office dropped the charges in April; she remains on probation, with a five-year sentence for the third-degree felony having been a possibility had prosecutors pursued the case further. Disney's reality TV chief Rob Mills said in May the network was deciding "day-to-day" whether to release the season, and its fate remains unconfirmed.
