Pierce Brosnan's 2014 spy thriller The November Man has returned to streaming, arriving on Paramount+ from 1 September as an R-rated alternative for fans wanting a darker, more violent take on the espionage genre than his GoldenEye-era Bond films offered. Directed by Roger Donaldson, who previously worked with Brosnan on Dante's Peak, the film reunited the pair nearly two decades later and gave Brosnan the chance to play a rougher, more ruthless operative than the sanitised Bond he had left behind after Die Another Day.

The story follows Brosnan's ex-CIA operative Peter Devereaux, pulled back into the field for a personal mission that pits him against his former protégé, played by Luke Bracey, amid a plot involving senior CIA figures and Russia's incoming president. The cast also includes Olga Kurylenko, Bill Smitrovich, Amila Terzimehić, Lazar Ristovski, Eliza Taylor and Caterina Scorsone. Reviews were largely negative, with a 36% critics' score and 46% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes citing a familiar and overcomplicated plot, though the film performed well financially, grossing around $40 million against a $15 million budget; a planned sequel was announced but never made.
