Beverly Vance, mother of US Vice President J.D. Vance, has said she is satisfied with the payment she ultimately received for the 2020 Netflix film "Hillbilly Elegy", despite studio executives initially attempting to offer her less. Speaking on OutKick's "Tomi Lahren is Fearless", she confirmed suspicions that producers tried to lowball her for the rights to her family's story, but said she held out and did not accept the reduced offer. The film, based on J.D. Vance's 2016 memoir, starred Amy Adams as Beverly Vance and Glenn Close as her mother.

Asked whether a sequel could follow her son's rise to the vice presidency, Vance said the decision would rest with J.D. Vance, as it is his life story, though she would be content with whatever he chose. She added that a follow-up film could usefully show her long-term recovery from the addiction struggles depicted in the original, saying she would like people to see that she got clean and has stayed clean.
