‘The Inbetweeners 3’ Movie Is a Go at Netflix With Original Lead Cast
Netflix has greenlit a third Inbetweeners film, with production starting this week in the UK and all four original stars reprising their roles. The revival marks the long-rumoured return of one of Channel 4's most successful comedies, following years of speculation about a follow-up to the two record-breaking cinema releases.
Simon Bird, James Buckley, Blake Harrison and Joe Thomas return as Will, Jay, Neil and Simon, with series creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris again writing and directing. The original sitcom aired from 2008 to 2010 and spawned two Film4-backed films in 2011 and 2014, both of which broke UK comedy box office records. Talk of a third instalment gained momentum last year when rights holder Banijay UK struck a deal with Beesley and Morris's Fudge Park Productions, paving the way for Netflix to now take on the project.
