Yeah Yeah Yeahs are releasing a new 22-minute live short film, Hidden In Pieces, and pairing it with classic feature films for a limited run of cinema screenings around the world this month. The film, directed by Barnaby Clay and shot at Los Angeles' Orpheum Theatre, showcases reworked live versions of the band's material, and the screenings tie into the release of their live album Hidden In Pieces Live At The Royal Albert Hall, recorded in London in June last year. The initiative reflects the band's 25th-anniversary tour last year, which Karen O said was born out of a need to reconnect with fans following the 2025 election.

The screenings run from 21 to 24 September across venues in London, Melbourne, Sydney, Mexico City, New York, Los Angeles and Tokyo, with double bills including Night Of The Hunter, David Lynch's Mulholland Drive and Eraserhead, and Wim Wenders' Wings Of Desire. The live album, which also draws on recordings from San Diego, Chicago and New York, is streaming now, with an expanded digital edition plus vinyl and CD versions due on 23 October; the first 250 orders will receive a signed photograph. The album opens with a rendition of Eraserhead's "In Heaven" as a tribute to David Lynch, who died shortly before the tour began, following the band's most recent studio album, 2022's Cool It Down.
