Hasbro's year-long 40th anniversary "Apology Tour" for *The Transformers: The Movie* (1986) has hit a minor delay, with the accompanying art book *The Transformers: The Movie: The Ultimate Visual History* pushed back from 27 October to 24 November. The 1986 animated film is widely regarded as a high point of the franchise despite—or because of—its unexpectedly dark tone, including the deaths of Optimus Prime and other beloved characters, and the anniversary celebrations have included concerts, new toys and a theatrical re-release.

The book, published by Insight Editions and Titan Books, has grown from 256 to 282 pages, though the added content has not been specified; the recent death of longtime Optimus Prime voice actor Peter Cullen may be a factor. Written by Chris Prince, it draws on interviews with the film's creative team covering its visuals, casting (including Orson Welles and Leonard Nimoy) and soundtrack. The film itself returns to cinemas in 4K via Fathom Entertainment from 17 to 21 September, with screenings followed by a new short, *Optimus Prime: Awakening*.
