Khloe Simmonds, a 26-year-old transgender woman, has been jailed for seven-and-a-half years after falsely accusing six men of rape between 2018 and 2026. Sentencing her at Harrow Crown Court, Judge John Lodge said the false claims amounted to a "sustained pattern of conduct, not isolated incidents" and had diverted resources away from genuine victims of serious crime. At the height of her offending, Simmonds's fabricated allegations accounted for 2.5 per cent of all sexual assault reports in Harrow, west London, with several innocent men arrested and detained before being released.

Simmonds was convicted on eight counts of perverting the course of justice, with victims including a man she falsely claimed held her at knifepoint, a chef and a musician she met on Grindr, and a taxi driver whose vehicle's tracking data disproved her account. In police interviews she admitted lying about at least one allegation while drunk. Her victims described the ordeal as "humiliating" and "traumatic" in impact statements, with one saying he found it "deeply distressing" that an innocent person could face such consequences over a deliberate lie. Simmonds, a pre-operative transgender woman, refused to return to the video link from HMP Wormwood Scrubs partway through her own sentencing hearing.
