A 68-year-old man has pleaded guilty to murdering Melbourne mother-of-two Eva Lasrini, whose body was found dumped by a roadside after he attempted to flee the country. Allen Keys admitted the killing during a brief hearing at Melbourne Magistrates Court, held via video link from the city's remand centre, closing off what had begun as a missing person investigation before turning into a murder case.

Keys, of Patterson Lakes, admitted killing 53-year-old Lasrini, from Dandenong, in Little River on 1 April. She was reported missing the following day when she failed to contact her family as expected, and her body was discovered on 4 April near Little River Road and the Princes Freeway. Keys was arrested on 3 April as he attempted to board an international flight at Melbourne Airport. He is due to face a directions hearing at the Victorian Supreme Court on 28 September. Lasrini, who was studying English, has been remembered as a devoted mother to her two daughters.
