LSU has finalised its 105-player roster without adding former Ole Miss players Dae'Quan Wright or Zxavian Harris, despite head coach Lane Kiffin's reported wish to bring them in. The decision comes amid an escalating legal dispute with the SEC, which is due to appear in federal court in Birmingham to seek a temporary restraining order aimed at enforcing conference rules on former professional athletes returning to college sport. The row has already seen SEC Commissioner Greg Sankey testify for 12 hours in a Baton Rouge courtroom, and the conference has separately sued LSU, Kiffin and athletic director Verge Ausberry.

Wright and Harris had won a court injunction last week after amending their complaints to name the SEC as a defendant, but LSU excluded both from the roster released before its 51-10 win over Clemson and again in Tuesday night's final version, which instead added Gabriel Reliford and Aidan Anding. The SEC says its court filing is intended to protect its right to self-govern and enforce agreed membership rules, and could also shield the conference when it comes to disciplining LSU over the affair; a vote on possible sanctions, reportedly including expulsion, could follow as soon as Thursday.
