An Australian tourist has been deported from Bali and banned from re-entering Indonesia for ten years after being filmed having sex on a resident's driveway. Billy Aspinall, 27, from Brisbane, was arrested at Denpasar Airport as he prepared to fly home, having been placed on a police watch list after CCTV footage of the incident went viral. The case highlights Indonesia's tougher stance on public indecency, particularly given the country's recently overhauled Criminal Code.

Aspinall was caught on 22 August in Tibubeneng village, North Kuta, allegedly having sex with an unidentified woman in a homeowner's driveway for around 15 minutes, ignoring her demands to stop; residents later held a "purification ceremony" at the site. He was intercepted using facial recognition technology on 26 August, spent two weeks in immigration detention, and was flown back to Brisbane, with officials citing the need to maintain public order. He could have faced up to a year in prison, but the homeowner declined to press charges, so he was handed to immigration authorities instead; police are still searching for the woman involved, believed to be a tourist.
