A first trailer has been released for *November 1963*, a film starring John Travolta that reimagines the assassination of US President John F. Kennedy as the work of the Chicago mob rather than a lone gunman. Directed by Oscar winner Roland Joffé, the film draws on input from the family of real-life crime boss Sam Giancana and centres on an alleged secret deal between Joe Kennedy and organised crime figures that supposedly helped John F. Kennedy reach the White House, before ending in betrayal. The project taps into decades of conspiracy theories linking the mob to the 1963 killing, offering a fictionalised account of the 48 hours surrounding the assassination.

The screenplay was written by Nicolas Celozzi, Giancana's nephew, and the cast also includes Robert Carlyle, Dermot Mulroney, Mandy Patinkin and Jefferson White, who plays Lee Harvey Oswald as a "patsy" alongside a suggested second shooter. *November 1963* is scheduled for cinema release on 20 November, just days before the assassination's anniversary. The trailer's release coincides with the availability of a director's cut of Oliver Stone's *JFK* on 4K Ultra HD.
